Workshop Operative / Installer (Carpentry) job opportunity in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury:

A fantastic opportunity to join an established and growing manufacturer as an Installer and Workshop Operative in a woodworking / carpentry based workshop to start 1st April 2024.

Our client manufactures and installs retail displays in to showrooms for national brands across the country, boasting a fantastic customer base filled with well-known brands despite remaining a local, family-run company.

The company has a good reputation as an employer, with some staff having been there for more than 15 years.

About this Workshop Operative / Installer (Carpenter) role in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury:

  • Mainly a workshop role working within the workshop in Bekesbourne.
  • Occasional over night stays installing display systems in to showrooms across the country as and when required.
  • Working alongside others, joining an established team of carpenters, installers and workshop production operatives.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Heavy manual handling.
  • Customer facing, representing the company well.
  • Carrying out assembly and production work within the workshop, preparing the display products for installation on the days when there are no installs.

Workshop Operative / Installer shift pattern in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury:

  • Monday to Friday with no weekend working.
  • Workshop hours are 8am to 4pm.
  • Site installation working hours will vary subject to the individual projects (overtime is paid for any time worked outside of workshop hours).
  • Some early starts required in order to travel to some sites.

About you, the ideal Workshop Operative / Installer in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury: 

  • You should have a proven good level of carpentry and/or DIY skills and experience, able to use hand / power tools comfortably.
  • Experience in a similar role, such as shopfitting/kitchen fitting or signage work, would be an advantage.
  • Ability to stay away from home when required.
  • You should be able to demonstrate effective and safe manual handling.
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude, able to represent the company well when out on site with customers.
  • A clean driving licence is essential.
  • Own transport is required due to remote location of the workshop.What’s in it for you?
